The Brassler Co 1900's Art Nouveau Amethyst & Pearl Suffragette Necklace 18k Yellow Gold
A true piece of history, this amazing lavalier necklace is made by The Brassler Co and dates back to the Art Nouveau era, circa 1910’s. The necklace is an undercover Suffragette banner. American suffragette colors were Purple (dignity), White (purity), and Gold (hope). Women who were part of the Suffragette movement used many symbols to promote their cause, and one of the most notable symbols was their jewelry. Suffragette jewelry was worn by women as a statement of their support for the cause and it became a powerful tool in the fight for women’s right to vote.
