Victorian Crescent Moon & Pansy Pin
Victorian Petite Scatter Pin / Brooch circa 1870-90’s. This was recently purchased from a local estate. Crafted in solid 10K yellow gold depicting a crescent moon with a Pansy flower accented by a luminescent seed pearl and shaded enameling. Pictured as received. Polishing or cleaning are available by request at no additional charge. Coin pictured for size comparison. Crescent moons in Victorian jewelry often represented spirituality and the glorification of the Feminine Moon Goddess. In traditional Victorian England, the Pansy flower was used to symbolize secret courting. As was common in those times, any outward display of passion or love was seriously frowned upon.
