COMMENTS: The gem’s purple colors represented the purity of spirit. Its purplish and reddish hues represented the chastening and purifying effects of suffering. Some believed the colors alluded to the wounds and suffering of Christ. Thus, amethysts were used to aid the healing of wounds.

Circa 1980s. Finely crafted of fine 14K yellow gold. Free cleaning upon request! Pictured as received from a local estate. Very good estate condition with minimal wear indicative of age.
