COMMENTS: Are you ready to be wowed? We can not take our eyes off this alluring and beautifully faceted antique Aquamarine. The gemstone displays a beautiful pale blue hue, similar to the clear sky on a summer day. It is framed delicately by a tapered border with hand engraved details and three single cut round accent diamonds set with a scalloped edge. The top of the pendant has one bezel set 1/4 carat round brilliant accent diamond that shines brilliantly. The pendant is fixed to a very fun cable and rhombus link stationary necklace. The necklace measures 25″ long not including the 1 1/8″ dropped pendant. This statement necklace is going to pair great with your evening wear or add flair and femininity to a more low key outfit. We hate to see this piece sell but know it is deserving of a life beyond our glass showcases.

Aquamarine is a member of the Beryl family, a cousin to Emerald and Morganite, its color is more pure and its attributes less brittle than Emerald, making it a desirable gem for special occasion wear.

The Greeks and the Romans knew the aquamarine as the sailor’s gem, ensuring the safe and prosperous passage across stormy seas. In Medieval times, the stone was thought to reawaken the love of married couples. It was also believed to render soldiers invincible.

The name means “ocean water,” and tales of Aquamarine date back to ancient seafaring days. Sailors of old believed that these glittering, watery gems came from the treasure chests of mermaids. It’s no wonder that Aquamarine is said to bring luck to all who sail the seas.
